The mission of the Prostate Health International division is --

• To work with prostate cancer experts throughout the world to create awareness about this disease and to find new ways to eradicate this disease;
• To educate the general public that early detection and timely treatment saves lives, and that early detection makes a difference in the quality-of-life after treatment;
• To provide free screening and treatment when necessary for medically underserved men;

Our initial fund raising event, the Run 4 Your Life, Father's Day 5K Run/Walk and 1 Mile Fun Walk ... Beat Prostate Cancer, was inaugurated in 2002 and has grown annually, with over one thousand runners participating in the 2007 Run. The event is on its way to becoming a traditional Father's Day family activity.

It is PHI's goal to help the fight against prostate cancer by replicating the activities that Breast Health International has successfully employed against breast cancer. The Board of Directors has already created a Prostate Cancer advisory group; our next goals are to sponsor a Prostate Consensus Conference and establish a Prostate Health International Fellowship program.
